Location:  Ekurhuleni Metropolitan , South Africa Closing Date:   25 June 2013 Reference Number:PEDW1579 Position:General Assistant Department:Waste Management Division:Waste Management Salary:R67 488 - R79 680 per annum (plus benefits) Minimum Requirements: Grade 8 Relevant experience Core Responsibilities: Physical cleaning of litter on sidewalks, streets and public parking areas Change the refuse bags in the street litter bins Remove animal carcasses from roads, houses and vets Place and remove street litter bins Deliver 85 litre and 240 litre refuse bins Comply with all safety rules and safe working procedures Wash and grease refuse collection and other council vehicles Occasional moving of furniture between offices Clean offices and maintain depot grounds and gardens Responsible for the safekeeping of the tools and to lock the entrance gates at the end of each workday and to report any damages Load refuse bags filled by the Litter Pickers Collect and remove refuse from residential, business and industrial premises Cover full containers with the freight net Direct the public at mini disposal sites where to offload refuse Clean the offloading ramp and between the containers Keep a gate report on vehicles entering and leaving the depot Sand and refuse containers Applications or CVs to be submitted to the following Human Resource Office: August Simmer Building, Ground Floor, 88 President Street, Germiston PO Box 145, Germiston, 1400 Enquiries: 011 999 1484/1602/0049 No faxed and e-mailed applications will be accepted.
